Rain almost never cancels a KickHub game. We play through it. Only genuinely heavy rain stops a match, and if that happens we contact you directly, at the latest one hour before kick-off.
Why we keep playing
Football is meant to be played in the rain. And Bangkok and Bali get short, hard bursts of it rather than all-day drizzle. A downpour at 4pm is usually gone by 6pm, and the pitch is fine. Artificial turf drains fast, so a surface that took a soaking an hour earlier plays normally.
Polo Football Park is covered, so games there run through rain and midday sun alike.
When we do call it off
We cancel for heavy rain, and for anything that makes the pitch unsafe, such as lightning or standing water that will not drain.
That call is made by the team, not automatically, and never later than one hour before kick-off. You will hear from us by WhatsApp or LINE message, and by a phone call if we need to reach you fast. You do not need to check anything or chase us. If your phone is quiet, the game is on.
If your game is cancelled
Your credit goes straight back to your balance without you claiming anything. You can put it towards any other game, and it does not expire.
What to do about the rain itself
Bring a dry shirt for afterwards, more than you would in Europe. The rain stops, the humidity does not.
If you are on your way and the sky opens, keep going. Nine times out of ten the game is still on, and turning back is how people miss matches that ended up being played in perfect conditions.
