Football Coaching for Adults in Bangkok: KickHub Academy
KickHub Academy offers coached football training for adult players in Bangkok. Weekly sessions at POLO with Coach Punn. 12 spots, beginner level. Book now.

Most football academies in Bangkok are built for kids. EPA, Bangkok FC Academy, BASE, FC Bangkok. They all run youth development programs, U-12 leagues, school holiday camps. If you are an adult who plays pickup football every week and wants to get better, none of that applies to you.
KickHub Academy is coached training for adult recreational players. Sessions run every Friday morning at POLO Football Park in Lumphini, led by Coach Punn, a professional footballer who started as a KickHub player before becoming the community's first coach. Twelve spots per session, beginner level, one hour of structured work on technique, finishing, tactics, and small-sided games.
Why pickup games won't make you better
If you play pickup football three times a week, you are getting fitter and having fun. What you are probably not doing is improving.
Pickup games reinforce whatever habits you already have. If your first touch is sloppy, you will keep playing with a sloppy first touch because the game moves too fast for anyone to stop and correct you. If you always pass sideways instead of playing through balls, nobody is going to call you out on it. Everyone is there to play, not to teach.
I have watched hundreds of players come through KickHub over the past two years. The pattern is always the same. Someone plays consistently for six months, gets comfortable with the format, and then hits a wall. They can keep up, but they stop getting better. The ceiling for self-taught improvement through pickup alone is low, and most players reach it faster than they expect.
The frustration came up constantly. After games, in WhatsApp messages, in conversations at the pitch. "I want to get better but I don't know how." Pickup will never solve that. Coaching will.
How Coach Punn joined the community
Punn did not respond to a job ad. He showed up to a KickHub game one day with a couple of friends. He had a free week between seasons and was looking for a casual game.
He came back the following week. Then the week after. Between his club commitments in the Thai Division 3, KickHub became his regular spot for staying sharp and playing football outside the professional circuit. He was part of the community for months before most players knew his background.
You notice someone who plays at a different level. The way he received the ball, his positioning off it, how he read the game two passes ahead. Other players started asking him questions. Where should I stand when we lose the ball? Why does my shot always go over? How do you always find space?
I started talking with Punn about coaching after seeing players gravitate toward him week after week. He was already coaching informally without calling it that. Running actual sessions for KickHub players was the obvious next step. He wanted to do it within a community he already belonged to, and we wanted someone who understood what a 30-year-old recreational player actually needs, which is very different from what a 10-year-old aspiring pro needs.
His background
Punn is half English, half Thai. He trained in football academies in England before studying Sport Management and Coaching at Loughborough University. He holds a Qualified Coach and Talent ID certification from the English FA. He has played professional football in four countries and is currently active in the Thai Division 3 across multiple clubs.
Between club seasons, he coached privately in Bangkok. He has been coaching for over five years, and his students have ranged from people who had never played organized football to professionals preparing for contract trials. Academy is the first time he is coaching a group within a community rather than doing private sessions.
What a KickHub Academy session looks like
Every Friday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at POLO Football Park in Lumphini. One hour, twelve players maximum. The small group size means Punn can actually give individual feedback rather than running generic drills for thirty people.
The sessions start with technical work. Ball control, passing accuracy, first touch under pressure. Most of us have not done a structured passing drill since school, if ever. You just play games and hope it gets better on its own. It does not.
From there, Punn moves into finishing. Shooting technique, positioning in front of goal, composure in the box. You might get four or five shots in a full pickup game. In a coaching session, you get dozens, and someone actually tells you why the ball keeps going over the bar.
Then there is the part most recreational players have never been taught: tactical positioning. Where to stand when your team has the ball. Where to move when they lose it. You can spot the difference between someone who has been coached and someone who has not within the first five minutes of any pickup game. It is the most underrated part of football and the hardest to learn by yourself.
Sessions end with small-sided games. Five or six a side, with Punn stopping play to explain what just happened and what you could have done instead. That is where the coaching sticks, because you are making real decisions under pressure and getting corrections in the moment.
Punn adapts to whoever is in the session. If the group is entirely beginner, the drills reflect that. The starting point is beginner-friendly because most people signing up have not had proper coaching in years. Some have never had it at all.
How this differs from other football academies in Bangkok
Every football academy that ranks on Google in Bangkok is youth-focused. They run programs for children aged 4 to 18. Professional development pathways, partnerships with European clubs, age-group progression systems. That is a completely different product serving a completely different audience.
KickHub Academy is coaching for people who already play pickup football every week and want to get better at it. Nobody is here to go semi-pro or join a league. The point is to improve at something you already enjoy doing.
The other difference is context. You are training with people you already know from Thursday night games at POLO or Sunday mornings at the park. No awkward introductions, no figuring out who can play and who cannot. You just train.
Who Academy is for
You play pickup regularly and feel like you have hit a ceiling. You enjoy the games but you know your technique has not improved in months. You have not had structured coaching as an adult, or it has been so long that it barely counts.
You are also welcome if you are relatively new to football. Maybe you started playing at 25 because friends in Bangkok brought you along. You love it, but you are aware that players who grew up with the sport have a head start. Academy compresses that gap in a way that playing more pickup games never will.
Academy is probably not the right fit if you are looking for competitive league preparation or advanced tactical work at a semi-professional level. Punn can coach at that intensity, but the group sessions start at beginner to intermediate. The priority is making everyone better, not filtering for talent.
What comes next
We are starting with one session per week on purpose. The format needs to be right before we scale it. If demand is there, more time slots, additional levels, and potentially more coaches will follow. But the first group sets the standard.
Punn's approach is progressive. Session one does not look like session ten. The drills get more demanding, the tactical concepts build on each other, and the small-sided games reflect what the group has been working on. That is the whole point of a program instead of disconnected one-off sessions.
If you have been playing pickup in Bangkok and wondering how to actually get better, this is it. One hour a week with a coach who already plays in your community, working on the things that pickup games will never teach you.
