Spartan Sports Hub sits on Soi On Nut 30 in Suan Luang, a few minutes from Soccer Pro On Nut and well inside the part of Bangkok where most of the city's evening football happens. One outdoor pitch, floodlit, open from five in the afternoon.
Seven a side, fourteen players. No roof, which in Bangkok means you keep an eye on the sky between May and October, and it also means you get a breeze that the covered pitches do not.
What playing here is like
Evening slots from around eight, Tuesday through Friday and Sunday. Teams get picked when everyone arrives, so turning up on your own is normal and most people do exactly that.
Some sessions have run as three teams of six rather than two of seven, two sides playing and one waiting, with the losing team coming off. It keeps eighteen people in a game on a pitch built for fourteen and it sorts itself out without a referee. Worth trying once if it comes up.
Getting there and around
Soi On Nut 30 runs off Sukhumvit 77, so it is straightforward from the On Nut end of the Sukhumvit line and easy enough by car. Monday evenings around seven are the venue's busiest hours generally, useful to know if you are booking the pitch privately rather than joining a game.
Turning up
Astroturf boots or trainers, no metal studs. Bring more water than feels reasonable, and turn up about ten minutes early so sides can be sorted before kick-off.
