About Pickup Football in Bangkok

KickHub started in October 2025 with 12 players and a WhatsApp group. Locals and expats who wanted regular pickup football in Bangkok, renting a pitch with zero structure. No app, no booking system. Just a group chat and people who wanted to play.

The platform exists because the alternatives fail newcomers. One of our founders joined a local WhatsApp group and played maybe 30 minutes out of two hours. Most newcomers sat on the sideline while regulars kept rotating in. When everyone books through the app and pays the same price, that stops happening.

Today, pickup football in Bangkok runs across multiple venues, with players from over 100 nationalities. A Thai local came to his first match alone and barely spoke. He wanted to meet expats and practice his English but felt nervous about fitting in. Now he plays at least three times a week and says the pitch changed his social life in Bangkok.

The energy changes with the night. Sunday mornings at POLO in Lumphini feel like a community gathering. A player once brought homemade pastries for everyone after the match. Thursday evenings at the same venue turn competitive, with organized squads pushing hard for wins. Same pitch, completely different atmosphere.

If you have never played in Bangkok heat, expect a reality check. A tourist from London lasted about three minutes during an April session before stepping off. The humidity from March to May is serious, but evening sessions make it manageable.
